Your survival in part depends on your savings. Whatever budget you have, look it over, find a way to lower expenses at least $25 per week and put that money into your own emergency savings account. Women are always buying for their kids, entertaining their families, helping their husbands, and thinking about themselves last. STOP DOING THAT! The number one priority for you is to save for yourself, particularly for your retirement. Once your emergency savings builds up, put some of that into an individual retirement account or a Roth IRA if you don’t already have one through work. If you don’t make outside income and your husband does, speak to him about setting up a non-wage earning spousal IRA for you. THINK ABOUT AND SAVE FOR YOURSELF. DON”T WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO TAKE THE INITIATIVE!
